Design

The Soundcore Life P3s are available in a variety of colours; black, oat white, navy blue, sky blue, and the colour that I reviewed, coral red. Now, first things first, the coral red, well, they’re not red. A more accurate name would be coral pink, much like the Nintendo Switch Lite. This wasn’t a problem for me; I love the colour. However, if you’re expecting a red pair, they’re not red.

The earbuds themselves are light and well built. They don’t feel flimsy in the slightest. Included are several different sized ear tips, so you will find a pair to fit your ears. The clamshell case is a very smart home for your earbuds, with LED status lights on the front. On the rear of the case is a USB-C port. The earbuds are IPX5-rated protection, so you don’t need to worry if you’re out and about in the rain or wearing them when working out.

Sound Quality

I had high expectations of the Life P3s, having reviewed many of their headsets and earbuds previously, and I was not let down. My music taste is somewhat eclectic, and all of my music sounded great, including live performances. I tested them out with Apple Music and their new Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and it worked well. If you enjoy bass, then these earbuds deliver! You can activate the Soundcore Signature equaliser with Bass Up to get extra punchy bass.

I’m a massive fan of podcasts, and listening to them with the P3s was a pleasure, especially when coupled with the podcast EQ setting that you can change in the Soundcore app. We’ve all been meeting virtually this year, and I used the Life P3s in a couple of meetings to test out the microphones, and my colleagues all commented on how clear my voice was.

Battery Life

I was very impressed with the battery life of the Life P3s. On a full charge, I was able to get through the working day listening to music and podcasts and playing some games on my phone during my lunch break. A full charge will get you around 7 hours of power, and the charging case gives you a further 35 hours. If your battery is running low, you can charge them for around 10 minutes, which will provide about two hours of listening time. You’re also able to charge the Life P3s wirelessly, which is incredible considering the price.

Gaming Mode

When I read about the gaming mode, I thought it might be a gimmick. However, I have to say that I was extremely impressed. With this mode activated, I decided to play various games, and I noticed no lag whatsoever. Furthermore, when playing a game like Call of Duty: Mobile, the bullets ripping through the air had more ‘meat’ to them.

ANC

I’ve been working from home for the last year, and I often have my RoboVac on and the washing machine or tumble dryer on the go when I’m working. Therefore, I have found that earbuds with ANC have allowed me to focus on my work.

I used the Life P3s for a couple of days instead of my usual earbuds with excellent ANC, and I have to say that I was impressed with the ANC. While it didn’t block out all external noise, it blocked out enough to allow me to concentrate. In terms of options, the Life P3s offers transport, indoor and outdoor noise cancellation modes, and fully transparent and vocal transparency modes.

Soundcore App

The Soundcore app is really comprehensive. Using the app, you can tailor the earbuds to your individual needs, including changing the equaliser settings. This can be from the available presets, or you can create your unique setting. You can also change what the touch controls do, and adjust the ANC options.

There’s even the option to check the eartip seal with a tip fit test. If the test fails, it will give you suggestions as to how you could improve it. Further options include the ability to update the firmware, and there’s even a handy find my device feature that sends a high pitched sound to your missing earbuds.

Sleepy Time!

Soundcore Superior Sleep

Another great feature of the Soundcore App is Superior sound. This mode allows you to create a soundscape of relaxing ambient sounds to help you get to sleep. As well as creating a custom soundscape, you can also set a timer so that your earbuds won’t be on all night.

Conclusion

I’ve honestly been impressed with the Soundcore Life P3 true wireless earbuds. They look great, sound great, the battery life is excellent, and the ANC works as well as other wireless earbuds that cost a lot more. Coupled with the impressive Soundcore App, you’re getting an incredible product. In all seriousness, for what you’re getting for the cost, the Life P3s are a must-have.
