Reading Time: 3 minutesMy next hardware Rapid Review is for the Anker Soundcore Flare+. After reviewing many gaming headsets, it was nice to have the opportunity to review a speaker. With an RRP of £109.99, I was keen to find out if it would be good value for money. Read on for my Rapid Review of this impressive speaker. Key specs 360° Sound: Two back-to-back full-range drivers are combined with dual passive bass radiators and tweeters to deliver 25W of all-around sound with breathtaking clarity. BassUp Technology: Precision EQ adjustment and driver configuration injects low end power for heart-thumping beats. Beat-Driven Light Show: A halo of LEDs reacts and phases in time with the beat-multiple themes and illumination patterns can be customized via the Soundcore app. Waterproof: IPX7-rated casing offers impermeable protection, even during complete submersion. Wireless Stereo: Connect 2 Flare+ speakers via a single device for seamless stereo sound or double the volume. Sound Quality The main function of any speaker is to produce high-quality sound. This is something that the Soundcore Flare+ does in abundance. I used the speaker to listen to music, radio, podcasts as well as live sport. The 360° sound aspect of the speaker made listening to any audio an immersive experience. This speaker also delivers serious volume, I was able to leave the speaker in the lounge and hear it right throughout my house. This speaker certainly offers a deep, rich bass. Design and Features The Soundcore Flare+ looks smart and feels solid and well made. It is coated in a similar material to more expensive alternatives. The standout feature of this speaker is the LED ring around the base of the speaker. This speaker is advertised for use as a party piece, and while I didn’t use this speaker for a rave, the light show was appreciated by my young children. The Soundcore is IPX7 rated, meaning that it can survive being fully submerged in water. Again, I didn’t have the need to test this feature out but it’s good to know that you’re protected against spills. Soundcore App Usually, companion apps that come with a product are not very good or do not offer much functionality. However, the Soundcore app is actually very good. You connect to your Flare+ using the Soundcore app. Within the app, you are able to adjust sound profiles, lighting, and more. Battery Life The Soundcore Flare+ is advertised as having 20 hours of battery life. After using my speaker for a couple of weeks, I must agree with this statement. The speaker is simple to charge, using the micro-USB cable provided. An added bonus, which will use up battery life quicker, is the ability to plug your phone into the speaker to charge it as your music plays. Conclusion The Anker Soundcore Flare+ is an excellent speaker. It looks and sounds impressive. I had no connection issues in my time using the speaker. The light show is a great feature, as is the waterproof protection. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the fact that it didn’t have a virtual AI Assistant like Alexa, or Siri. However, this is something that is being addressed in the upcoming Flare S+. Rapid Reviews UK Rating
