Optoma LV130 Rapid Review

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Friday night at Rapid Reviews HQ is movie night. In the past, we’ve watched movies on our modest 42″ TV. So when I was approached by Optoma to give their ultra-compact LV130 projector a whirl, I jumped at the chance. How did this mini device perform? Read on to find out.

Miniature marvel

The first thing you notice, or not notice, about the LV130, is the size. It is so small and light and certainly deserves its description as an ultra-portable projector. Due to its size, you will be able to place the projector on almost any surface.

Picture quality

For something so small, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the picture that it projects. It’s not going to blow you away with a pristine picture, but what you see will be more than respectable. Even when the room was quite bright, I was able to make out the movie without ant issues at all.

Sound

A small negative I found with the protector was the audio quality. We noticed when watching a film, that the sound was a little tinny when watching a film. However, for most people, this won’t be an issue as I imagine the LV130 would be used more for office presentations.

No power lead, no problem

Another extremely useful feature of the LV130 is that is had a built-in rechargeable battery. We were able to watch a whole film without having to worry about the battery running out.

In Conclusion

If you’re looking for a projector that is going to allow you to watch films, play games, and present with the best sound and picture possible, this isn’t the projector for you. However, if you are looking for a projector that you can carry around, use without having to plug into the mains, and use in a workplace setting for presentations, the LV130 is a viable option for sure.
