OPPO Pad Air – The Rapid Review
We’ve recently had the OPPOrtunity to review the latest tablet from OPPO, the OPPO Pad Air. This is the company’s first foray into the tablet market. Read on to find out if this midrange tablet is a breath of fresh air.
Stylish 3D Design
The Oppo Pad Air has a sleek, stylish design made of aluminium and glass with a smooth, curved back. It comes in a smart yet understated grey colour. The back of the tablet is made of aluminium, and it has what OPPO term a “Sunset Dune 3D texture.” The texture gives the tablet a unique look and feel and I did love the design.
The tablet is also very thin and light at 6.9mm thick and 440g in weight. This made it easy for my children, the primary users of this tablet, to hold and carry around.
Display and Sound
The Oppo Pad Air has a 10.36-inch IPS 60Hz display with minimal bezels and a 2000 x 1200 pixel resolution with a protective layer of Panda Glass. The display is sharp, and the colours are vibrant with good viewing angles. The quad stereo speakers are loud and clear, making watching movies or listening to music such an enjoyable experience.
Cameras
The front-facing camera is a 5MP lens with the rear lens capable of taking pictures up to 8MP, and both cameras can record videos up to a 1080p resolution. The rear camera also has CAF (Continuous Autofocus) support, which can help keep subjects focused even when moving. The front-facing camera is also used for face unlock.
The camera quality on the Oppo Pad Air could be better, but it is good enough for basic tasks like taking photos and videos for social media or making video calls.
If you want a tablet with a great camera, there are better options than the Oppo Pad Air. However, the Oppo Pad Air is a good choice if you are looking for a budget-friendly tablet with a decent camera.
Performance
This isn’t the most powerful tablet in the world. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, a mid-range chip released in 2021, with 4GB RAM and the option to add up to 4GM more expanded RAM using the Pad Air’s internal storage.
In terms of everyday use, this tablet can handle basic tasks, such as browsing the web, watching videos, and using social media. However, it struggled slightly with more demanding tasks such as gaming. For example, my daughters complained on more than one occasion that their Barbie Dream House game took ages to load and, at times, froze or stuttered.
It’s not the fastest tablet on the market, but it can handle most basic tasks without any problems and the tablet’s performance is fair for its price.
All-day and more battery life
The Oppo Pad Air has a 7,100mAh battery, one of the largest batteries on a tablet in its price range. In my testing, the OPPO Pad Air achieved up to 12 hours of video playback on a single charge. This is excellent battery life, so you can easily get through a full day of use on a single charge.
The Oppo Pad Air’s battery life varied depending on how we used it. When I used the tablet for everyday tasks like browsing the web or checking email, the battery would last a very long time. However, the battery life was expectedly slightly shorter when used for gaming and bingeing episodes of their favourite TV shows or those random videos on YouTube kids by my daughters.
The Oppo Pad Air has excellent battery life, and is one of the best things about the tablet. You can use it for hours without worrying about running out of power. My children certainly put the OPPO Pad Air’s battery through its paces and even commented about how good the battery life was.
In summary
Overall, I’m impressed with the OPPO Pad Air. It’s a great budget tablet that offers value for money. If you’re looking for a tablet with a good display, great speakers, long battery life, and a stylus, then the Pad Air is a great option.

I haven’t used the Oppo pad air, although l have purchased it, & awaiting for it to arrive.
I do however, have an Oppo mobile phone, & it has been a much better brand! That’s why l decided to buy an Oppo tablet, to synic with my Oppo mobile phone, for that very reason! I have had lots of problems, with the tablet l do have, + it’s getting old now anyway!
Will be rather much happier, once my new tablet arrives!
