Design

The Robovac X8 has a striking design, with red and blue accents, on a mostly black body. The edges of the RoboVac look like the carbon fibre design found on Formula One cars. On top of the X8 is the housing for the Lidar Laser (more on that later!) that looks like something out of a Sci-Fi movie.

There is also a selection of buttons that let you manually start a cleaning session, spot cleaning session, and send the RoboVac home. You’ll also find the battery status light and WiFi status light on the top of the RoboVac.

The charging base design is well thought out, with rubber pads on the bottom to stop it from slipping and a removable cover that houses the charging lead and lets you store any excess cable.

Simple Setup

Setting up your new RoboVac with the EufyHome App is a straightforward process, and after a couple of simple steps, your new RoboVac X8 will be ready to go.

Complete Cleaning

The primary function of a RoboVac is to clean, and clean it does! The X8 is the world’s first twin-turbine technology RoboVac that offers 2000Pa of suction, and while that might sound complicated, in the real world, this means that the RoboVac X8 does an incredible job of cleaning. One cleaning cycle and my carpets and laminate flooring were spotless. I was honestly impressed at how good a job the X8 did. I genuinely thought I’d have to do a quick once over with my traditional vacuum after the RoboVac’s cleaning cycle, but I didn’t need to.

Room for Improvement?

I’ve used other RoboVacs, and I’ve found that they can be a little random in how they move around and go about their cleaning. This has resulted in parts of rooms being missed, with dirt left on the floor in places. Fortunately, this is not the case with the X8. Thanks to iPath Laser Navigation that uses a Lidar Laser, the RoboVac can very accurately map each room of your house. As you can see below, after an initial clean, each room of the downstairs of my house was incredibly well mapped by the RoboVac.

Clever Cleaning

There are several cleaning modes available thanks to AI Map Technology V2. These can be accessed using the EufyHome App. Another great feature that ensures you get a good cleaning result is BoostIQ. This changes the suction of the RoboVac depending on the type of surface.

When using Max mode, the RoboVac X8 is loud!!

Auto – This mode sends the RoboVac off on a cleaning cycle through each of the mapped rooms.

Room – Once the RoboVac has mapped all of the rooms in your house, you can send the RoboVac X8 to specific rooms. Perfect if your children, or pets, have made a mess in a particular room of your house.

Zone – This allows you to draw a square on the room map, and it sends the RoboVac there to clean the specified area.

Spot cleaning sends the RoboVac to exactly where you need it to go.

Spot – Spot cleaning enables you to send the RoboVac X8 to a specific spot in your house. Perfect if you’ve dropped that packet of crisps on the floor!

Other Features and Settings

The EufyHome App has many other useful features and settings that will make your RoboVac X8 easy to use. These include manual controls, seeing your cleaning history, checking the status of different parts of your X8, and adding cleaning schedules.

Better Battery

The 5200mAh battery ensures that the RoboVac X8 has enough power to clean all of the rooms in your house, with plenty to spare. When it is running out of juice, it automatically returns to its charging base. There’s also a setting that tells the RoboVac to return to where it was cleaning once it’s had a charge.

Double Duster!

The RoboVac X8 has a large 600ml dustbin, which means that you’ll spend less time emptying it. After a few cleaning cycles, I’ve not had to empty the dustbin yet.

Alexa, Start Cleaning!

Thanks to Alexa, and Google integration, you’re able to use your voice to ask the RoboVac X8 to start cleaning. There’s something strangely powerful about being able to send the X8 on a cleaning cycle with just your voice. In all seriousness, though, voice control works pretty well.

Should You Be X8ited About It?

In a word, yes. The RoboVac X8 is an incredible product. It does a fantastic job of cleaning your house, and the new features and modes make it a brilliant device that will make your homes cleaner and your lives easier. Having used the RoboVac X8 for a little while, I highly recommend it.
