BackBeat GO 600 Series

Reading Time: 3 minutesIntroduction My latest gadget review is of the Plantronics BackBeat GO 600 Series over-the-ear wireless headphones.  With an RRP of £89.99, this headset would be considered midrange.  Read on for my Rapid Review. Specifications Bluetooth technology Bluetooth 4.1, HFP 1.6, HSP 1.2, A2DP v1.2, AVRCP v1.4 Listen time Up to 18 hours Standby time Up to 20 days Deep sleep Up to 6 months Speaker driver size 40 mm with bass tube design Frequency response 50 – 20,000 Hz Sensitivity 92 dBPL Impedance 32 ohm Harmonic distortion <3% Passive noise cancelation Over-ear memory-foam earcuppadding Weight 175 g Roaming range 10 m/33 ft Audio codec Custom SBC codec Time to charge (zero battery to full) 90 minutes Number of mics Single, wideband-enabled mic Multi-point Two devices can be connectedsimultaneously Voice commands (answer/ignore) No Build and comfort The headphones are available in four colours; Navy, Grey, Khaki and Black.  I have the khaki version, and while I wasn’t initially blown away by the colour, I did grow to like it.  The headphones feel solid and I liked the angular edging of the headband.  The headband and earcups are light and consist of a memory foam material – this made them very comfortable to wear.  The earcups did an excellent job of cancelling out background noises. They’re very easy to store as they fold flat.  However, the carry case included with the headphones does look a little cheap and likely to tear with a lot of use. Sound quality I’ve got to say that I was impressed with the sound quality that these headphones delivered.  I shouldn’t have been surprised though as I’ve been impressed with the audio quality that Plantronics gaming headsets have provided before.  The headphones have two EQ settings to choose between, bass boost or balanced mode.  I could hear a noticeable difference between the two EQ settings, and bass boost did exaggerate the bass in the songs that I listened to. Connectivity Pairing the headphones via Bluetooth is really quick and easy.  The headphones give voice feedback to tell you if they are connected or not.  The headphones offer a range of 10 metres.  I used my headphones to listen to music and podcasts on my way to work.  With my phone in my rucksack, I never once lost connection to my music.   Features The headphones feature easy-to-use onboard controls which allow you to skip, play and pause audio.  There is also a button you can press to choose between the two preset EQ settings.  Power, pairing and volume buttons also present.  The only thing that I was a little disappointed about was the fact that these headphones do not offer any waterproof protection. Battery Life I was really impressed with the battery life of the BackBeat GO 600 Series headphones.  I haven’t had to charge them at all since receiving them, and I’ve used them for a couple of hours every day.  There is vocal feedback which tells you the battery level.  Another good feature is the inclusion of a 3.5mm cable.  If you run out of battery, you can use them with the cable.  Obviously, this takes away the wireless functionality but it’s nice to have the option. Conclusion The BackBeat GO 600 Series headphones were a pleasure to use.  They’re lightweight, comfortable and provide a solid listening experience.  The sound is crystal clear, and the battery life is excellent. If you’re looking for a good quality, well-made pair of wireless headphones, for £89.99, I would recommend these.   Rapid Reviews UK Rating You can purchse the BackBeat GO 600 Series on the following link, http://plantronics-prod.adobecqms.net/gb/en/product/backbeat-go-600
