A Dinky Delight

Weighing in at 1.6kg, the Soundcore Motion X500 is a super compact Bluetooth speaker, but don’t let that fool you. With its 3D aluminium grille and a handle that features a tactile grooved design, the Motion X500 feels like a premium product that is easy to hold and small enough to take with you wherever you go. It is available in three colours: Black Deluxe, Pink Punch, or Glitzy Blue, meaning you can find one that suits your taste and whichever you pick will look as good at a pool party as it does chilling in your living room.

Small Speaker, Big Sound

The Soundcore Motion X500 offers surprisingly loud and great sound quality for its compact size and portable form factor. For me, the standout feature is spatial audio. When switched on, the sound fills your room, and you feel like you’re at a live music concert. This is thanks to its multi-driver design that helps to create a wider soundstage.

While not designed to be a dedicated bass monster, the Motion X500 packs a surprising punch in the low-end. This adds warmth and energy to many music genres. The Soundcore Motion X500 has LDAC and Hi-Res audio capability, meaning that you get significantly more detail from compatible music sources. Using the Soundcore companion app, you can choose from preset EQ options to tweak the sound profile to your taste. Speaking of EQ options, you can adjust or create your own via the app and even choose your own colour to display on the Sky Light.

The Soundcore Motion X500 is a beast of a portable speaker. It’s got the sound, the looks, and the toughness to be your go-to music companion for any adventure. If you’re looking for a speaker that can handle your tunes wherever you go, this is definitely one to check out.

Full of Features

In addition to being compact and sounding great, the Soundcore Motion X500 has plenty of other features that make it a worthwhile purchase.

IPX7 waterproof: Poolside tunes? Rainy hike soundtrack? BBQ on the beach? The Soundcore Motion X500 will have your back in all of these scenarios.

12-hour battery life: Dance from dusk to dawn, or binge your favourite podcasts all day. This speaker won’t let you down. When you do need a power boost, you can charge your speaker using the USB-C port. A 5 hour charge using a 15W charger will give you 100% power.

Built-in mic: Take calls without having to grab your phone.

Sky Light: The light on top of the speaker indicates your selected EQ. You can even change the colour via the Soundcore App.

Minor Nitpicks

(because no tech is perfect!)

No carrying strap: This would have been an easier way to carry this speaker around.

Limited lighting options: Although you can customise the colour of the Sky Light to indicate your chosen EQ, it would have been nice to have the light flash to the beat of the music.

Price tag: This isn’t the cheapest speaker on the block, but the sound quality and durability justify the cost for me.

Do we recommend it?

Absolutely! Just don’t blame us if your neighbours start complaining about the awesome music coming from your house! The Soundcore Motion X500 delivers a solid audio experience with impressive bass and clear mids. Its sleek design is complemented by a durable build, making it suitable for on-the-go use.

The battery life holds up well, ensuring extended listening sessions and advanced features like Customisable Pro EQ settings will delight audiophiles. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for those seeking a balance between sound quality and portability. If you’re looking for a speaker that can handle your tunes wherever you go, this is definitely one to check out.
