Design and Comfort
While plastic, the PDP Gaming LVL50 Wireless Stereo Headset look more of a premium product than they are. I reviewed the Xbox version of the headset, and I liked the Xbox green aspects of the headset. This included the little green spring that you can see on the side of the headset.
Thanks to a combination of the lightness of the headset, the nylon mesh ear cushions, the adjustable head strap and the cushioned headband, the PDP Gaming LVL50 Wireless Stereo Headset was extremely comfortable. Even after a long gaming session, I didn’t get the usual ache on the top of my head that I have had using other headsets.
Connectivity
You connect the LVL50 Wireless Headset using the included USB dongle. It really is as simple as plug and play. I never once lost connection to my Xbox.
Super Sound!
The main selling point of any headset is the sound quality, and the PDP Gaming LVL50 Wireless Stereo Headset produces excellent sound. Playing Call of Duty, I was able to hear the footsteps of oncoming enemies, as well as the bullets, ripping through the air.
The volume levels are easy to control, thanks to the on-ear dial. Talking of volume, this headset produces a pleasing volume level, although I would have liked the volume to be a little higher. Pleasingly, even at the highest volume, it still sounds clear.
As you can see in the image below, that mic can be activated simply by moving it up or down. You can also bend the mic so that you can find a position that you are comfortable with. A great feature of the LVL50 is the noise-cancelling microphone. This means that when using the chat function, it only picks up your voice, and not any ambient sounds.
There are two sound modes on the headset: Pure Audio and Bass Boost. I tend to stick to the default modes when using a headset. However, when using the bass boost, I did notice a more “meaty” thud when gaming.
Battery
I’ve been impressed with the battery life of the PDP Gaming LVL50 Wireless Stereo Headset. You can charge the headset using a USB-C lead. I’ve only had to charge the headset once since using it.
Conclusion
At £69.99, the PDP Gaming LVL50 Wireless Stereo Headset is excellent value for money. For a relatively low price, you’re getting a headset that delivers excellent sound, is light and comfortable and is easy to use.
